Apple announced the Pride Edition Braided Solo Loop, exclusively for Apple Watch, as part of its new Pride collection on the 6th. It will be available for purchase starting May 23rd, and soon Apple will release watchOS 10.5, iOS 17.5, and iPadOS 17.5 that support a new 'Pride Radiance' watch face and iPhone and iPad wallpapers.
The Pride Edition Braided Solo Loop comes in two sizes, 41mm and 45mm, and is compatible with Apple Watch SE and Apple Watch Series 4 and later models. Priced at ₩14,800, it is launched to support the global movement to protect and advance equality for the LGBTQ+ community.
The vibrant fluorescent design evokes the strength and beauty of the LGBTQ+ community, with 'Pride 2024' laser-etched into the loop. Black and brown represent the Black, Hispanic, and Latinx communities, as well as those affected by HIV/AIDS, while pink, light blue, and white symbolize transgender and non-binary individuals.
The new Pride Radiance watch face and iOS and iPadOS wallpapers will also be available with the upcoming watchOS 10.5, iOS 17.5, and iPadOS 17.5.
Through this Pride collection, Apple continues to support LGBTQ+ advocacy organizations making positive change, including ILGA World, a global alliance dedicated to advancing the rights of LGBTQ+ people worldwide, and the Human Rights Campaign, a global advocacy group working to ensure that all LGBTQ+ people are treated with full equality and dignity as citizens. Other organizations Apple supports include Encircle, Equality North Carolina, Equality Texas, GLSEN, Equality Federation, the National Center for Transgender Equality, PFLAG, SMYAL, and The Trevor Project.
The new watch face and wallpapers bring bold and symbolic colors to the watch, iPhone, and iPad. Beams of light, representing hope, resilience, and camaraderie for the LGBTQ+ community, interweave and blend into a dark background, illuminating the lasting impact of the LGBTQ+ movement and a brighter future of greater equality for generations to come.
Users can personalize their watch face and wallpapers by selecting from a variety of vibrant colors. On Apple Watch, the gyroscope data responds to wrist movements and the colors follow the numbers in real-time, while on iPhone and iPad, the light beams display 'Pride' and move dynamically when the device is unlocked.
